At our Kecskemét site, 400-500 people work every day to achieve more and more success. All of our colleagues have contributed to making our company the second largest trailer parts manufacturer in Europe, providing a stable livelihood for countless Hungarian families. In the next period, we would like to show our followers the human side of Autóflex-KNOTT in Kecskemét. We are interviewing our employees to give you a better insight into our company and the atmosphere in which they work. The following interview was made with Dr. László Kiss, the lawyer of Autóflex-KNOTT, please enjoy.
How long have you been part of the Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd team?
DR.L.K.: Since 2007.
Is this your first job? If not, how did you start your career?
DR.L.K.: As a student I had summer jobs at the company’s warehouse for several years. Later I also spent nearly a year in the laser facility as a laser machine operator. Then came a new period in 2007. Currently, I represent the company as a lawyer.
What are your personal motivations?
DR.L.K.: The greatest motivation lies in the complexity of the work. The aim is for the company to be able to operate in full compliance with all legislation, taking into account the constantly changing national and European legislation. I also believe in continuous improvement. I want to be part of the digital transition. The aim is to go completely digital in terms of employment documents and interaction with the authorities, because this is the future. This is a tough cookie for a company of this size.
What do you consider your greatest success at the company?
DR.L.K.: Both small and big success is success. I can’t single one out, because for me it’s the same success if I can help a colleague with a small thing and if I can help the company with a bigger thing.
What do you consider the biggest challenge in your work?
DR.L.K.: On the one hand, to comply with the law and to not have to think about whether we are doing it right or not, even if it is increasingly difficult because of the ever-changing legislative environment.
On the other hand, the real task of the lawyer is to reconcile the opposing parties. I try to build bridges between different generations so that we can work together effectively.
Why do you like working at Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd?
DR.L.K.: Because the company never lets you get bored. It constantly challenges you. I encounter tasks that are not commonplace even as a lawyer. I’m continuously learning, I need to educate myself so that I can successfully carry out the tasks that arise in the life of the company. I come into contact with authorities and agencies that the average person doesn’t even hear about. The variety makes my job enjoyable.
What is the working atmosphere and teamwork like?
DR.L.K.: In my opinion, the working atmosphere is very inclusive and good teams can develop. Whatever requests or questions we have, everyone tries to help resolve them.
How do you recharge when you’re out of the daily grind?
DR.L.K.: I try to spend as much time with my family as possible. My friends are also important, we like playing football and poker.
What message would you send to existing and future colleagues?
DR.L.K.: I have heard Seneca’s quote “Non quid iuris, sed quid consilii” from my father several times. This means that it is not only the law that is important, but also humanity and discretion. This is my message to future colleagues, to be humane not only in the workplace but also in life. Be more patient with each other. Different generations should understand each other and try to identify and harmonise with each other. Be persistent. As you can see from my example, when I was a student I used to count the parts in the warehouse, and now I’m looking through paragraphs and law books. Autóflex-KNOTT offers a real perspective for your colleagues.
