At Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. we believe in the need for continuous innovation. It is in this spirit that one of the latest developments from our Kecskemét-Kadafalva factory, The Spider, was born and we would like to introduce it to you.
Where did the idea come from?
Our aim was to make the production of the overrun brake mechanism easier and to increase production efficiency. The manufacturing process of the product has been broken down into steps in order to have several workstations involved in the production of the product.
Why is The Spider innovative?
Previously, the product was manufactured on a mechanical turntable, which allowed for slower, manual production. We designed a target machine that helps our colleagues do their job more efficiently, more easily.
The resulting 6 workstations at the end of the development process represent a significantly more modern technological level, as it is a digitalized, electronic, pneumatic, display and indicator equipped circular workstation. Like a spider with its threads, The Spider brings together colleagues working in a team.
What are the advantages in production?
- 1 product is ready in just 1 minute.
- It makes the production process more organized, more flexible and easier to plan.
- Production data regarding the product can now be easily collected on the special purpose machine, making it traceable.
- Work does not stop during holidays either, making it easier to substitute colleagues working on the machine.
Our special purpose machine, The Spider, was operational at the end of 2022. Over the past quarter, our colleagues have done a great job with its help. We hope it will help us achieve our goals for many years to come.
