It is a pleasure to transport machinery with a trailer equipped with this system

The task of moving small tractors and machinery between the premises and the work area is a frequent task in construction, agriculture, gardening, and other areas. Anyone who works in such an area knows exactly what a hassle it can be to get machinery on and off trailers. Particular attention must be paid to the exact positioning of the ramps on which the machines can get on and off, a mistake of few inches can result in the expensive machinery tipping over and getting damaged but more importantly the driver may get hurt as well.

Transporting machinery with a trailer comfortably and safely

Autóflex-KNOTT offers a clever rig that eliminates safety risks during getting on and off in a single stroke and allows machinery to be moved quickly. This is nothing more than a manually operated trailer lowering system that exists in both mechanical and hydraulic versions.

Operation of manually operated trailer lowering systems

Forget about messing with ramps. In case of trailers equipped with manually operated lowering systems, you can easily lower the end of the trailer to the ground and get off safely with the machinery.

Our starting point is that the trailer is ready for transport and hitched to the towing vehicle. (So, we want to lower the loading area first.) Let’s watch the video patiently. Wait until the big guy stands aside. (Afterwards the details can be seen up close.)

1. The winch must first be tensioned as if we want to raise it further. (This is very important, because without this you should not operate the safety lever.)

2. With one hand lift the safety lever (plastic handle) and with the other hand – using the winch – start to lower the loading area of the trailer. (The safety lever must not be raised higher than approx. 30 degrees!!!)

3. After 3-4 turns of the winch the safety lever must be released. The winch is to be rotated continuously, but only until the back of the loading area reaches the ground.

4. In this state we are free to move the cargo on and off.

5. After loading (and securing) the cargo, start winding the winch thus raising the loading area.

6. In the last phase of the raising process it can be seen that the safety cables move slightly forward (approx. 50mm). Then, with an audible click (two quick clicks in a row), they jump into place. The raising of the loading area is carried out by continuous winching, and after the clicks turn it 2-3 times until it is tight.

7. Attention!!! Then turn the winch 2-3 turns in the direction of lowering. This relieves the load ensuring that the safety cables remain in place.

The winch should not be used to secure the vehicle (or other cargo), such as in the case of boat carriers. The load must always be relieved.

In the hydraulic version on the other hand you do not even have to turn it, it lowers automatically with the help of a manual pump.

You can watch how trailers with manually operated trailer lowering systems work in the videos below:

Do you also want a trailer with a manually operated trailer lowering system?

Unfortunately, the manually operated trailer lowering system cannot be retrofitted to the trailer, only new trailers can be purchased with the system. You can order any kind of trailer base from us. However, complete trailers can be ordered only from specialized trailer manufacturers. Search for trailers equipped with Autóflex-KNOTT parts at these manufacturers as well.

If you need any trailer parts, go to our webshop or order them at rendeles@autoflex.hu, or by calling our domestic sales line at +3676502058.
