The managers of Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. and LUX Ltd. also actively participated in waste collection at the 6th Tisza Lake PET Cup
The 6th Tisza Lake PET Cup, held over the weekend, proved once again that environmental protection is not only a necessity, but can also be an inspiring community experience. Zita H. Szabó, managing director of Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. and Fanni Király, company manager of LUX Ltd., a member of the group, were actively involved in the waste collection as part of the FBN-H team. Their dedicated work is an example of how corporate actors can also make a real impact for a sustainable future.
During the competition, nearly 15 teams, around 300 participants and 60 canoeists set off from Tiszafüred to Dinnyéshát to collect the polluting waste from the river and its floodplain in self-built PET rafts and canoes. The results were impressive again this year: more than 10 tonnes of waste was removed from the environment, including PET bottles, scrap metal, tyres and household items.
Community action for nature
The PET Cup is not just a litter picking event – it is also an experience of learning, team building and attitude building. Participants experience the importance and effectiveness of working together to protect nature through a playful competition. The event not only cleans up the environment, it also builds communities – bringing together companies, NGOs, schools and individuals around a common goal.
Autóflex-KNOTT: Exemplary participation
Autóflex-KNOTT Ltd. was not only a sponsor, but also an active participant in the event.
It is particularly important to mention that Zita H. Szabó, Managing Director, personally participated in the work, thus underlining the company’s commitment to sustainability. The same was true for Fanni Király, company manager of LUX Ltd. Their participation sends a clear message: environmental responsibility is everyone’s business – and the higher the level of example, the more credible it is.
Why is the PET Cup important?
– Environmental impact: large amounts of waste accumulate along the Tisza every year, especially during floods. The PET Cup’s targeted actions give life to the river and contribute directly to the protection of wildlife.
– Recycling focus: More than 60% of the waste collected is recycled, not only eliminating litter but also putting it back into the cycle.
– Experiential education: participants will learn through personal experience about the importance of the waste problem and the possibilities for sustainable solutions.
Closing thought
The 6th Lake Tisza PET Cup was not only about cleaning up nature, but also about how real change can be achieved through teamwork, creativity and leading by example.
The participation of Autóflex-KNOTT Kft. and the personal presence of Zita H. Szabó and Fanni Király show that the corporate sector can also play a serious role in environmental protection – not only with words but also with deeds.
We believe that events like this go beyond the weekend: they influence thinking, decisions, communities – and ultimately our future.
